At Wickham Market Primary School, we take safeguarding children, very seriously. All pupils in our care are protected by robust Safeguarding Procedures that are in place to ensure that pupils are able to learn in a safe and happy environment.

Robust safer-recruitment practices are in place to ensure that all staff, governors and volunteers working in our school are subject to safeguarding security checks (which include ID checks, DBS checks and references) and the staff regularly undertake Safeguarding Training. All adults know how to report concerns and pupils know who they can talk to if they are worried about themselves or their peers.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in our school is Mrs H Murray
Second Alternate Designated Safeguarding Lead Mrs Stanley-Bell
Mrs Louise Turner is our Safeguarding Governor.

The LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer) are Rennie Everett and Dian Campbell.
Local Designated Officers can be contacted via email on or using the LADO central telephone number 0300 123 2044 for allegations against all staff and volunteers.
