Welcome to the Wickham Market School Association (WMSA) Web page.

The ethos of the WMPS PTA is to raise funds for the enhancement of the teaching and learning of the teachers and students at Wickham Market Primary School. As well as creating opportunities for enriching experiences for the students at the school and for the local community of Wickham Market. To share and celebrate the facilities of the school and successes of the school and encourage support from the wider community.

The biggest achievement of this year by the WMPS PTA was the funding of the completion of the Wickham Market Primary School Fort.
 

All parents, carers, guardians and staff are welcome to attend our meetings and share their ideas with us. Please don’t be shy, we would love to see you there.

Join the PTA!

There are many reasons to join a Parent Teacher Association (PTA), including: 
 

Supporting your child's education

The PTA raise money to improve learning experiences for all students. You can help fund things like playgrounds and libraries. 
 

Building relationships

PTAs help parents connect with teachers and other parents. You can get to know the school community and build a sense of community among parents, teachers, and students. 

Learning new skills

You can learn new skills like fundraising, problem-solving, communication, and creativity. 

Staying up to date
 

PTAs keep parents informed about academic events and socials. 
 

Making a difference
You can make a real difference in your child's school and the school community. 

Getting involved

Anyone can get involved, and you don't always have to attend meetings. You can do small jobs like designing a poster, distributing letters, or running a stall. 

Showing your children that their education is important
 

Studies show that children whose parents are involved in their education do better in school. 

Creating a better learning environment
 

By working together, parents and teachers can influence decisions that affect the school. 

The WMPS PTA are a small but determined group of parents that like to create much needed fund for the school and opportunities for the students. We are a friendly group and always looking for new help and new ideas. Everyone really is very welcome. 
 

What Does The School Association Do?

We are a fundraising committee (and registered charity), aiming to raise funds that benefit every single student in the school. We are passionate about our school and helping to improve the resources and facilities for our children during a time when school budgets are tighter than ever.

We are always looking for new fundraising ideas and opportunities, but we already raise money through the following fun events and initiatives:

• Easy Fundraising
• Termly School Discos
• End of term Raffles

How can you help?

We appreciate that everyone leads busy lives. We don’t need a commitment to attend every meeting or event. Any time or support that anyone can give is gladly welcomed. Here are a few ideas of what you can do:

Help at events

We ask for help via the Wickham Market School Association Facebook page leading up to events. We really appreciate all our helpers. Thank you!

Match funding

Do you work for an employer who will match fund?  If so please contact us.  It can increase our fund raising considerably. You may be surprised that your employer does offer such a thing and it helps enormously so please ask – it’s often just filling in a form.

Sponsorship

Do you work for an organisation or run a business yourself and would consider sponsoring an event?  We are always looking for sponsors. 

Discounts/Raffle Prizes

Do you work for a retailer who can offer us discount or a raffle prize?  We'd love to hear from you.

Easy Fundraising

It’s a great site where you can help Wickham Market School Association raise funds simply by doing your everyday online shopping! Over 3,500 big name retailers are included, such as Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, eBay, Boden and M&S.

Every time you shop, we receive a small donation to say ‘thank you!’ It’s completely free and over £20M has been raised for causes just like us so far.

Skills

Perhaps you have a particular set of skills that could help us? Donating time is invaluable. Are you a handyperson? Gardener? Entertainer? Chef? The list is endless! We would love to put your skills to good use.
