PE and Sport Premium
PE and Sport Premium
As a school we value the importance of keeping our children active and recognise the contribution it has to both health and well-being. Therefore, at Wickham Market Primary School we ensure our children are receiving effective teaching of a high quality PE curriculum. PE also clearly contributes to our children building character skills such as: teamwork, fair play and respect for themselves and others. There is an abundance of evidence that show the positive effects sport and exercise have on children’s physical health, growth and development.
Sustaining Improvements
Working alongside our PE provider - Xtratime sports development and coaching - we are able to ensure that staff are continually supported by professional PE coaches in delivering our high quality curriculum. Our assessment system enables us to track our children's progress and to nurture young sports people. Frequent monitoring of PE lessons by the PE lead and the Senior leadership team highlight areas for growth and development across he curriculum.
